If you conduct a business that involves supplying one or more individuals to work in a business owned by another person you need to apply for a licence to operate as a labour hire provider. From 30 October 2019 substantial penalties may apply to persons who provide labour hire services or advertise that they provide labour hire services but are unlicensed and did not submit an application during the transition period.
If you conduct a business that engages labour hire providers to supply you with individuals to work in your business, from 30 October 2019 you must only use licensed labour hire providers or providers that have applied for a licence before 30 October 2019 and the application has not been refused.
If you are a labour hire worker, you should be engaged by reputable providers who comply with their legal obligations.
