2.5% increase to national minimum wage from 1 July
30 June 2021Following the Annual Wage Review 2021, the Fair Work Commission has announced a 2.5% increase to the national minimum wage.
This will apply to all award wages, with the award increase happening in 3 different stages. Most awards increase from 1 July 2021.
Who does this increase apply to?
The increase applies to anyone who is paid minimum award wages or the national minimum wage. Most employees are covered by an award. If you’re not sure which award applies, use Find my award.
If you’re covered by a registered agreement, you should check it to see whether this increase affects you.
What do businesses need to do?
Providers and hosts should check the Fair Work Ombudsman website to make sure you're complying with workplace laws and workers are being paid correctly.
