Did your awards change on 1 November?
30 November 2021Providers of labour hire workers to several industries – including airline, cleaning, beauty, hospitality, sports, tourism and more – will need to make sure they are paying the correct minimum wage.
The Fair Work Commission (FWC) announced an increase of 2.5% to the national minimum and awards wage after its annual wage review. In the final stage of this increase, 21 awards will increase from the first full pay period in November. These include:
- Pilots Award
- Cabin Crew Award
- Airline Ground Staff Award
- Airport Award
- Alpine Resorts Award
- Amusement Award
- Dry Cleaning and Laundry Award
- Fitness Award
- Hair and Beauty Award
- Hospitality Award
- Live Performance Award
- Models Award
- Marine Tourism and Charter Vessels Award
- Nursery Award
- Racing Clubs Events Award
- Racing Ground Maintenance Award
- Registered Clubs Award
- Restaurant Award
- Sporting Organisations Award
- Travelling Shows Award
- Wine Award
From 1 November, most employers will also have to check with the Australian Taxation Office if their employee has an existing super account where they don’t choose a super fund.
