Important reminders for providers and licence applicants when using the LHLO Portal

Applying for a labour hire licence is the first step for any Victorian business to provide labour hire services, so it is important to get it right the first time – and avoid any processing delays.
From the time a business submits a licence application, the Labour Hire Licensing Online (LHLO) Portal becomes its primary communication channel with the Labour Hire Authority (LHA).
Licence applicants must create their own LHLO account and may not use another person’s account.
LHA issues a range of critical requests and notices to licence holders and applicants via the Portal, including:
- requests for information, to clarify aspects of an application or a business’ relevant persons
- reminders such as upcoming licence renewals, fee payments and annual reports
- compliance and enforcement notices.
It is crucial that nominated officers respond to any notices in a timely manner, to avoid delays and risks of non-compliance.
Failure to respond or provide a satisfactory response may provide grounds to refuse an application or cancel a licence.
Are your details up to date?
Nominated officers must ensure their licence details are up to date, to lower the risk of missing critical LHA notices.
It is also a requirement under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) to notify LHA of certain changes; significant penalties can apply for non-compliance.
Check your business and contact details are up to date via the Portal, and ensure you:
- notify LHA of any changes to your nominated officer, especially if a new nominated officer needs to be added in place of a previous nominated officer
- update the phone number or e-mail address of your nominated officer.
