LHA’s diverse program of industry engagement continues

The Labour Hire Authority (LHA) is continuing its significant program of industry and worker engagement, and preparing for upcoming activities in commercial cleaning and horticulture.

In March, LHA attended The Big Meet careers fair and talked to dozens of graduates and job-seekers.

Expo visitors spoke positively of their increased understanding of the labour hire industry and the role of LHA in protecting current and prospective workers.

LHA also presented to the Environmental Health Practitioners Association, whose members are involved in regulating areas including prescribed accommodation for local councils.

Key topics of discussion included LHA’s role in the labour hire industry, and ensuring accommodation supplied by providers meets relevant standards.

Hort Connections Expo

LHA will have a booth at the Hort Connections expo from 4-5 June 2024 at the Melbourne Convention Centre.

This event is the largest horticulture conference and trade show in Australia and New Zealand, providing a valuable opportunity for industry engagement around issues in labour hire and LHA’s role.

Upcoming session for the commercial cleaning industry

LHA will be hosting a hybrid information session for the commercial cleaning industry in the coming months. This event will be crucial for providers, hosts and facility managers seeking clarity on their legal obligations and how to remain compliant.

As a hybrid event, attendees will be able to opt to attend in person or watch online.

Keep an eye out for registration and event details in next month’s newsletter.
