Welcome to the July 2024 edition of LHA News
4 July 2024Welcome to the July 2024 edition of LHA News.
The start of 2024-25 brings new opportunities for labour hire providers and host businesses across Victoria.
It’s a good time for providers to update their licence details and to ensure they’re across their legal obligations – including the 1 July minimum wage and award increase, tax and super changes, and upcoming changes to the Fair Work Act.
In this edition, we introduce BPAY® as a new option to pay your labour hire licence fees, and we provide some helpful new year reminders.
We also take a look back at 2023-24 through a labour hire data snapshot. It was a significant year – one which saw over a thousand new licensees, and record levels of LHA industry engagement, compliance and enforcement activity.
Elsewhere in this edition, we cover:
- franchisee and franchisor obligations when supplying labour hire
- a new LHA communications campaign targeting meat and poultry processing workers
- all businesses that had licences cancelled, refused or conditions applied in May 2024.
We hope you enjoy the July edition of LHA News and start the new financial year on the right foot.
