Wrapping up the year and upcoming regional sessions – LHA engagement in 2024
5 December 2024The Labour Hire Authority (LHA) has engaged with the industry across Victoria in 2024, meeting with providers, hosts and other stakeholders.
LHA staff have travelled over a thousand kilometres across Victoria to deliver a total of 61 engagement activities and speak with over 1,300 stakeholders.
Activities have included:
- 22 information sessions/webinars for providers and hosts
- 21 stakeholder meetings
- 9 externally hosted presentations
- 5 booths at expos.
LHA held tailored events for key labour hire industries – including horticulture, commercial cleaning, and construction – as well as broad sessions for providers and hosts in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The sessions provided an opportunity for attendees to be updated on LHA’s activities and to learn more about key issues in the labour hire industry.
Recent and upcoming information sessions
In November, LHA held information sessions in Melbourne for providers and hosts in the commercial cleaning industry; and general sessions in Healesville and Dandenong, which reached registration capacity in record time.
These events were well attended by businesses seeking to understand LHA’s recent activities and receive best-practice compliance advice.
The LHA program of industry engagement continues in December, with information sessions in regional Victoria.
Labour hire providers and hosts can now register to attend the following sessions:
Key topics of these sessions include:
- business obligations under Victorian labour hire law
- current focus of labour hire licensing, compliance and enforcement
- tools and resources to support businesses
- questions and answers.
Details and registrations for all upcoming information sessions are available via the Events page on the LHA website.
