The Labour Hire Authority (LHA) will be hosting a webinar for labour hire providers on Thursday, 13 October from 3:00-4:00pm.

Hosted in collaboration with WorkSafe, this free event will cover:

• recent changes to providers’ work health and safety obligations
• an update on the labour hire licensing scheme
• recent compliance work by LHA
• an opportunity to ask questions directly to the Commissioner, in an informal setting.

LHA and WorkSafe recently hosted a similar webinar for providers in the horticulture sector covering issues including independent contracting, accommodation, and the changes to piecework rates in the Horticulture Award introduced earlier this month. Representatives from WorkSafe covered changes to provider obligations in relation to workplace health and safety.

Since the commencement of the labour hire licensing scheme, LHA has worked to keep providers aware of changes and developments, and provide information to support good practice and compliance.

“We are giving providers an opportunity to understand changes to their obligations, to support them to comply with the labour hire licensing scheme and other relevant laws,” said Labour Hire Licensing Commissioner, Steve Dargavel.
